Sections 159 to 161 of chapter 10 of the Indian Evidence Act, 1872, deals with the recollection of the past. Let us take a look. WebWit- nesses frequently refresh their memories before going into court, by referring to papers in their possession which are not taken into court; and where they rely on their recol- lection of the facts, as this witness did, it is not necessary that the writing be produced.
